Financial aid can come from federal, state, school, and private sources to help you pay for college or career school. The following information will help students interested in applying for Federal Financial Aid.

Apply for a Direct Loan

  1. If you haven't already done so, file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 

  2. If you are a first-time Direct Loan borrower, you must complete Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN). Both items can be completed at using your FSA ID that was created to fill out the FAFSA. Once completed, both the Entrance Counseling and the Master Promissory Note will automatically be sent to the Financial Aid office electronically.  Please note that if you have already completed Entrance Counseling and/or a Master Promissory Note, you will not need to complete one again.

  3. Once your Entrance Counseling and MPN are completed, please contact the Financial Aid Office in person or at 913-621-8740 to finalize you loan request and formally accept your Direct Loans.
