The Seelos Institute

The Seelos Institute for Catholic Education was launched in fall 2023. The Institute aims to provide services to the local Catholic community by embracing two of Donnelly’s core values: seeking truth and building community. The Seelos Institute is named after Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, a German-born Redemptorist priest who dedicated his life to serving the poor and marginalized, with a special focus on immigrants and youth.

Upcoming Events

Foundations on Catholic Education (2-day event)

In this two-day event, educators will participate in a series of reflections and conversations on the foundations of Catholic education. This event covers six meditations on how being made in God’s image shapes our understanding of education and the vocation of an educator. Also included are Mass and time for prayer, conversation and connecting with peers. Lunch and materials will be provided both days.

Continuing Education points (10) are available. This event costs $100 for teachers and $50 for college students. Scholarships available if cost is an issue.

  • Faculty, teachers and administrators in their first three years at a Catholic school
  • Faculty, teachers and administrators looking to reflect on Catholic education and teachings
  • College students pursuing an education degree
