Practical Nursing Program Admission Process
To be considered for admission to the Practical Nursing program at Donnelly College, you must complete the following steps:
GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: All nursing students must first complete the general admission process to Donelly College before being accepted into the nursing program. For a more in-depth step-by-step guide on our general application requirements, click here.
- Step 1 - Submit a Donnelly College Application.
- Step 2 - Send us your ACT/SAT/Accuplacer test scores. Please email your test scores to admissions@donnelly.edu. No current test scores? No problem! Chat with one of our admissions counselors about our FREE placement test, Accuplacer NextGen. For information on scheduling a test and placement into college courses, click here.
- Step 3 - Provide all official transcripts to the Registrar and complete the FAFSA.
PROGRAM-SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
- Step 1 - Complete and submit:
- The Nursing Program Application
- Three letters of recommendation (Submit in a manila folder at the front desk)
- Download the Nursing Letters of Reference document here.
- Step 2 - Schedule an appointment with Donnelly's Nursing Intake Coordinator.
Application Deadline
We are not accepting new students at this time.
Admission Requirements
- Valid Photo ID
- Social Security Number
- TEAS Testing for Practical Nursing Admission starting 2026: To register for the exam, go to the ATI testing site, create an account, and choose Donnelly as your test site.
Required Prerequisites (must be completed before admission)
- Human Growth and Development (3 credits)
- Human Anatomy and Physiology with Lab (5 credits) (must be completed within the last five years)
Additional Requirements Upon Acceptance
If accepted into the program, you must also complete:
- Background check and drug screening
- CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- Current vaccines and TB test
- Proof of health insurance (required for clinicals)
