
Program Requirements - Practical Nursing
NOTICE: The Practical Nursing (PN) program has conditional approval from the Kansas State Board of Nursing. We are not admitting new students for the Fall 2025. It is our hope to resume our regular admission schedule for the PN program in Spring 2026.
Practical Nursing Program Admission Process
To be considered for admission to the Practical Nursing program at Donnelly College, you must complete the following steps:
- Step 1 - Submit a Donnelly College Application.
- Step 2 - Provide all official transcripts to the Registrar and complete the FAFSA.
- Step 3 - Complete and submit:
- The Nursing Program Application
- Three letters of recommendation (Submit in a manila folder at the front desk)
- Download the Nursing Letters of Reference document here.
- Step 4 - Schedule an appointment with Donnelly's Nursing Intake Coordinator.
Application Deadline
August 2025 LPN Cohort: April 25, 2025
Admissions Requirements
- Valid Photo ID
- Social Security Number
- Pre-admission test (replacing TEAS)
Required Prerequisites (must be completed before admission)
- Human Growth and Development (3 credits)
- Human Anatomy and Physiology with Lab (5 credits) (must be completed within the last five years)
Additional Requirements Upon Acceptance
If accepted into the program, you must also complete:
- Background check and drug screening
- CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- Current vaccines and TB test
- Proof of health insurance (required for clinicals)
