Meet Lux, the Donnelly Dragon!

Donnelly Dragon

On January 24, 2019, the Donnelly College community adopted the Dragon as their new mascot. On June 30, 2020, Lux, the Donnelly Dragon, arrived on campus for the first time. Lux looks forward to joining the full community in the fall of 2020 and greeting students on the first few days of classes.

The name Lux means "Light" in Latin and is part of the Donnelly College motto Lux Vera meaning "True Light".

Donnelly College student Ian Suarez Chavez says, "Dragons have been viewed as a symbol that stands for pride, heroism, boldness, self-confidence, power, excellence, perseverance, nobility, vitality and happiness. The same can be said about the Donnelly Family. [Donnelly] has given us our wings; meaning that it has given us the tools we need to reach great heights. To be a Dragon means to think big, do great, and persevere with kindness, love, courage and faith."

Go Dragons!
