More than 30 people gathered in the Event Center on Tuesday, March 28 for the signing of a transfer agreement between Donnelly College and Avila University.
"In Missouri and in Kansas, we serve a wonderful population that God has entrusted into our care," said Monsignor Stuart Swetland, president of Donnelly College. "This articulation agreement will help us do this even better, and more seamlessly, as students go from one institution to the next."
The transfer agreement enables Donnelly students who have a 3.0 GPA to be guaranteed a $13,000 a year scholarship at Avila University - covering nearly half the cost of tuition.
"You'll find that like Donnelly, the classes (at Avila) are small, where faculty know you and know how you learn, and adapt the learning to be responsive to you," said Ronald Sleptiza, president of Avila University. "We know it will be a place that will engage you, because we emphasize the right relationships and will engage you not just in your studies, but (also) in the community - to learn to make a difference in the world."
