Bio:
Richard Esvang is a multi-disciplined professional, who has, for over 25 years, demonstrated excellence as a director, designer, playwright and actor. He has produced a strong of a body of work reflecting a career of intense commitment, originality and risk taking. He was a founder and Artistic Director of, The Great Plains Theatre Festival.
He was Director of Theatre and Associate Professor of Communication, Speech and Theatre Arts for seven years at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina Kansas. He has also been a summer faculty member at the Interlochen Academy of Arts and the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. He is Adjunct Faculty for Donnelly College.
Awards include: Directing Fellowship Hofstra University, Irene Ryan Award Regional Winner, American College Theatre Festival, New Horizon Performance National Award winner 1983, Carol Otto Award for Distinguished Acting Performance. Richard holds an MFA from Western Illinois University.
