What’s it like to be a Donnelly student? Alumnus Don Wolf, ’56, master photographer, spent one day following four very different students to show you what life as a DC student is like today.

Age: 33
Year: Second-Year Practical Nursing Student
Hometown: San Antonio, TX
4:00 a.m. Wake up, shower, put my scrubs on for work and prepare baby bottles for the day
5 a.m. Read Daily Bread and get sons Bernard (age 14) and Simon (age 4 months) dressed and ready
6:30-11 a.m. Work at Diversity Specialty, Inc. - a dialysis unit in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
11:30 a.m. Swing by my local Curves and do a quick, 30-minute workout
12:15 p.m. Rush home to spend time with Simon and grab a bite to eat
12:45 p.m. Make some quick chili in the crock pot for my family to eat for dinner while I’m in class
1:30 p.m. Run Simon to the babysitter on my way to class at Donnelly
2:45 p.m. Arrive at Donnelly and meet with classmates about an assignment
4-9 p.m. In Medical Surgical Nursing class where we review for an exam
9 p.m. Head home after a long day!
10:15 p.m. Get home, eat dinner and enjoy some green tea with my husband while watching the news
11:30 p.m. Prepare for the next day (another early start!) and go to bed

6:30 a.m. Wake up, shower and iron my clothes
7:00 a.m. Eat a quick breakfast in my dorm room and review my notes for algebra class
7:50 a.m. Dash next door to attend my first class of the day – Microcomputer Essentials
9 a.m. Attend Intermediate Algebra class where we are reviewing for a test
9:50 a.m. Study in the 7th floor computer lab and print the outline for my public speaking essay
11 a.m. Go to Public Speaking class
12:00 p.m. Hop on the elevator to the 7th Floor Chapel for Mass
12:45 p.m. Eat lunch and hang out with friends in the cafeteria
2:00 p.m. Get back to my dorm room to study, do homework and read over all assigned chapters for my classes
4:00 p.m. Workout in the on-campus fitness center
5:00 p.m. Shower, eat dinner with some friends
6:00 p.m. Study for my algebra exam and work on a Comp II assignment
10:00 p.m. Call home to catch up with family members
11:30 p.m. Check my e-mails and Facebook, watch the news
12 p.m. Catch some Zzzz’s

6:00 a.m. Wake up and get my backpack ready for the day
7:00 a.m. Dad drops me off at Donnelly on his way to work; study on campus until my first class begins
10:00 a.m. Attend Psychology class
11:00 a.m. Multitask by eating lunch and preparing worksheets for Supplemental Instruction (SI) lessons
12:00 p.m. Go to Mass on campus
12:45 p.m. Get to class early, review notes
1:00 p.m. Theatre class, which I love!
2:00 p.m. Go to drill team practice in the fitness center, so excited!
3–6:30 p.m. Biology/math tutoring in ACE
7 p.m. Arrive at home, make dinner and watch American Idol with my fiancé and two daughters!
8 p.m. Put the kids to bed and then prepare dinners for the next two nights (I won’t get out of class until after 9 p.m. tomorrow!)
9:30 p.m. Get my homework done and catch up on reading for my Theology class
12:30 p.m. Get some much-needed rest!

7 a.m. Wake up, shower and listen to my favorite music to get my day started
8:30 a.m Leave the residence hall and walk to my first class
9 a.m. Microbiology class - Ah! It’s so tough!
10 a.m. Jump on the elevator and run to College Algebra
11 a.m. Check my e-mail
and, like I do every day, outline activities for the next day in my beloved planner
12 p.m. Go to Mass on campus
12:45 p.m. Head to the cafeteria to grab a quick lunch
1:30 p.m. Study for my Philosophy class in the library
2 p.m. Change clothes and head to the fitness center to lead drill team practice
3 p.m. Student Ambassador duties – today I am calling potential students to follow-up on their campus visits
5 p.m. Run errands around KCK
6 p.m. Hurry back to residence hall to gather my textbooks and grab my assignment
6:30 -9:10 p.m. Head to the 4th floor for Philosophy class
9:30 p.m. Back to my dorm room to relax for a few minutes
10 p.m. – 12 a.m. Study and hang out with some friends in my dorm room
12:30 a.m. Review Physiology & Anatomy notes for class tomorrow
2 a.m. Get ready for bed, say my prayers and fall asleep
