Gateway to College

Not a good fit for traditional high school?
That’s OK — you’re not alone.

Gateway to College

There are many reasons why students fall behind, like frequent absences, family responsibilities, language challenges and more, all of which impact success. Yet it’s incredibly important to finish high school, and in today’s world, graduation is just the first step. Most good jobs require education beyond high school.

If you’ve fallen behind in high school or quit altogether, Donnelly’s Gateway to College program may be just right for you.

Gateway to College gives students like you a second chance. You can earn a high school diploma and begin earning college credit. It’s free and is available to motivated students like you!

This program is for students who are:

  • 17-20 years old
  • Behind in credits for high school graduation
  • Motivated to graduate from high school
  • Interested in going to college
  • Attend/Attended the Kansas City, KS public schools

As a student enrolled in Donnelly’s Gateway to College program, you will:

  • Work with dedicated instructors and support specialists who understand the challenges you face
  • Build academic and personal skills in a small community of peers
  • Attend classes on the Donnelly College campus for 3 to 4 semesters
  • Improve your reading, writing and math skills
  • Begin taking introductory college classes and earning college credit
  • Not be expected to pay tuition; there is no cost to you

Ready to further your education and your future? Here’s how you enroll:
