Program Support Specialist, Student Success [download]

Position Reports to: Associate Vice President of Student Success

Job Summary
The program support specialist is the face of Student Success at Donnelly College. This position is responsible for making student appointments with the Student Success offices such as advising and testing, coordinating student programs in areas such as financial literacy, New Student Orientation, and student senate, and reporting data related to Student Success goals.

Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities for the Program Support Specialist position include the following:

  • Coordinate front desk activities for Student Success (i.e., make student appointments for advising, testing, and other offices).
  • Implement student programming in financial literacy.
  • Collaborate with other Student Success staff to develop, implement, and coordinate various activities and projects focused on retention and graduation.
  • Work closely with Student Senate to promote student involvement and awareness of campus resources.
  • Collect and analyze data on student participation in SSS programs and related outcomes.
  • Coordinate New Student Orientations programs.
  • Utilize social media to market upcoming events to increase student awareness and participation in targeted programs.
  • Supervise work study/student assistants.
  • Serve on institutional committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications for the Program Support Specialist position include the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, coursework in student affairs preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient with technology (Microsoft Office, Power-Campus, Self Service).
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) strongly preferred.
  • Background similar to Donnelly student population strongly preferred.

Marketing Coordinator [download]

Location: Donnelly College, Kansas City, Kan.

Position Reports to: Director of Advancement

Job Summary
Donnelly College is looking for a creative, driven Marketing Coordinator to join the College’s Advancement team. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and increasing awareness of the Donnelly College brand. From public relations to social media to advertising and media relations, this position leads all marketing efforts for Donnelly.

Responsibilities
• As part of the Advancement team, responsible for coordinating and leading all marketing and public relations efforts for Donnelly College as well as building and maintaining its brand.
• Develop and implement an external marketing strategy to raise awareness of Donnelly and strengthen its Catholic identity.
• Develop a strategy to increase Donnelly’s social media tactics, aimed at cultivating prospective new students, current students, alumni, community members, and more.
• Generate coverage of Donnelly within the press, in part by writing and publicizing press releases on Donnelly events, news and happenings.
• Build solid relationships with key members of the media, both local and national.
• Coordinate all new and updated content on the College’s official website, donnelly.edu.
• Creating an advertising plan that aligns with Donnelly’s enrollment and fundraising schedules.
• Serve as editor and writer of the College’s external magazine, the Donnelly Digest.
• Work with the Admissions team to collaborate on projects geared toward increased enrollment and retention, as well as other departments as needed to create new and/or updated promotional materials.
• Provide regular updates on progress to the Director of Advancement.
• Maintain an organized schedule of marketing activities.
• Establish and lead a marketing advisory council, and leading quarterly meetings with its members.
• Serve as a member of President’s Council.
• Manage the Marketing budgets.
• Work directly with Creative Coordinator/graphic designer.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or journalism. Preference given to persons with a related master’s degree, bilingual skills, professional marketing and/or experience at an academic institution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous published writing experiences required.
• Ability to manage one’s time to creatively complete simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using Microsoft Office required. Experience with Adobe and web design software preferred.

Director of International Affairs [download]

Location: Donnelly College, Kansas City, Kan.

Position Reports to: Vice President of Student Affairs

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide academic and social support to incoming and current international students. As the Director of International Affairs, this individual will provide assistance to interested international students as they explore Donnelly College as an option to further their education in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Vice President of Student Affairs with responsibility for the recruitment and retention of international students and students seeking ESL classes.
  • Provide international student market feedback to the College for program development and expansion.
  • Serve as Admissions Officer for international students, verifying their application for admission and supporting documents are in compliance with College and United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) regulations.
  • Act as the Premier Designated School Official (PDSO) to the USCIS. Supervise processing of international students and various USCIS forms.
  • Process transfer of international students to Donnelly and other institutions with proper USCIS reports as required.
  • Ensure that all Donnelly Designated School Officials to the USCIS are kept current as to USCIS regulations and processes related to international students.
  • Organize and maintain the International Student office including preparing budget recommendations and submission of the same for approval.
  • Other duties include purchasing and liaison with agencies related to international students.
  • Provide academic and social services as needed by international students enrolled at Donnelly College.
  • Serve as an active member of the Student Affairs and Administrative Council.
  • The person in this position researches and implements strategic goals and new initiatives for the office.
  • Help coordinate meetings and develop handouts as well as workshop materials for programs and events.
  • Assist in developing program ideas and provide leadership.
  • Participate in creating promotional materials for all programs, e.g. flyers, power point presentations, handouts on as needed basis.
  • Provide input to the coordination of publicity and the marketing of programs across campus.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Affairs.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral written communication skills with a diverse group of stakeholders (i.e., students, faculty, staff, and external organizations).
  • Self-motivated, self-directed commitment to high professional ideals.
  • Computer experience and proficiency with applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Familiar with the impact cultural influences have on student retention and student learning and knowledge of culturally relevant support programs.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
