Donnelly College is committed to the principles of Catholic social justice and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Founded by the Benedictine Sisters, it embraces the values of hospitality, community, stewardship and discipline.
Our goal is to transform students through broadening their vision of the world, encouraging their service to others, developing their full potential, and enabling them to become lifelong seekers of truth.
Donnelly College was a joint venture of Bishop George Donnelly, bishop of Kansas City, Kansas, and Sister Jerome Keeler, a Benedictine Sister of Atchison, Kansas. In 1949, they saw the need to make a Christian education available in the urban core where many Catholic Immigrants had settled.
The mission, rooted in Catholic values, still stands strong after nearly sixty years.
